Matt Dillon needs to be in the top 10.

I would have chosen Chris Lloyd over Danny DeVito.

Unlike most people, I couldn't stand Seinfeld, so I would replace George Costanzo with the Coach from Cheers.

What's up with Ed Norton at #2 with Ralph Cramden all the way down at #14?
Ed Norton got all the awards, kinda like Barney Fife on Andy Griffith.

I wasn't a big Taxi fan, but my impression is that Danny DeVito's character was sort of an on-the-job version of Archie Bunker.
I think the best character on that program was Rev. Jim.......

The Avengers. Loved that show.
To: Responsibility2nd
I beg your pardon but The Avengers was not some ‘obscure’ show from the 1960’s. It was outstanding television of the kind that is completely extinct today.

And Laura Petrie is a much more interesting character than Mary Richards.

Emma Peel from the Avengers.
To: Dr. Sivana
I would put Barney Fife #1 and Ed Norton #2 as the greatest supporting characters of all time.
To: CaptainK
We could start by putting Al Bundy on that lofty perch.

I always thought that Jackie Gleason made the show.
I also noticed that Bob Newhart isn't on the list for either show and he should have been for both.

All in all, a pathetic listing. Seems to prefer obnoxiousness.

No Latka Gravis or Vic Ferrari ? The entire casts of Taxi, WKRP, and Night Court deserve mention.

Festus, Chester, Miss Kitty all should be in top 50.
