One Christmas when our choir was singing, we gave our little boys die-cast airplanes to play with during Mass. They had no moving parts, didn’t make any sounds, so we figured they were safe. Wrong ... reenactment of Pearl Harbor on the risers behind us, pick up by the microphones.

:-)

Years ago, when WBill Jr. was much smaller, he and all the rest of the little guys were "sheep" in the church Christmas play. Cute costumes that my lovely wife made out of white shag bath mats, but I digress.

The play went on, the time came for the sheep to step forward and deliver their lines, and.....

.....no sheep. Nowhere. Not on stage, not behind the stage, they'd disappeared.

A bit of frantic searching revealed them to be behind the altar, underneath the choir bench, quietly playing with some Matchbox cars WBill Jr. had stuffed in his pocket beforehand.

"Shepherding the Wandering Sheep" is now a trope in our church that gets pulled out every Christmas. :-)
