Win10 is fine. I have it on my laptop and no issues, even upgrading from Win81.

That said, I still have Win7 on my desktop with 32gb running virtual machines.

If you do decide to upgrade to Win10, make an image backup file of your existing OS partition.

That way, if you don’t like Win10, you can re-image the OS partition and return to your current Win and program files.

There are numerous Imaging programs available. I don’t like the one that comes with Windows, because the restoration does not recognize external USB where I store my imaged files.

I currently use the free-for-home-use Macrium Reflect. It has saved me a few times. It also recognizes the USB hard drives.
