A Texas mother is speaking out after her daughter's school gave the young girl a henna tattoo the week before Christmas.
Tammy Samour was shocked when she picked up her daughter Leah, 7, from Ed White Elementary School in Houston and saw the second grader's hands covered in the designs, which are traditionally applied to the hands and feet of women during Hindu ceremonies and festivals.
That shock soon turned to outrage however as Ms. Samour says she never gave the school permission to tattoo Leah - and now the brown paste will not wash off her hands. It can take several days before the vegetable dye fades.
Ms. Samour also said that connections she discovered between the Hindu and Muslim faiths were of concern to her when she decided to do further research on the tattoo.

We now ban Jesus from schools, but require students to learn about Islam?
If they did that to my child, I’d put those tattoo instruments in a rather unpleasant place.
Should be good to go in six-eight weeks. But still...
The henna complaint is stupid, although the school should not have allowed them to be applied without permission. The tattoos in the pics do not indicate any religious preference or any kind of controversial decoration according to my wife (from Mumbai). Neighborhood kids used to come around and get these when our kids were younger. Even more stupid is the supposed connection between “Muslim and Hindu faiths” lol. About the only thing correct in the article is that henna tattoos are difficult to remove.
” It can take several days before the vegetable dye fades. “
It’s not a tattoo. It’s very temporary. It’s like getting your face painted at the Faire. Kids love it, but parents should have been in the loop.
I’m sure it doesn’t obligate her to join the Jihad.
This has already proven to be a false claim. There is no such standard teaching curriculum literally in existence. There are only the claims by the PC crowd that claim it as Established Fact.
Despite the lack of proof in any way...
It is not that the henna markings will fade over time, it is more that the concepts behind the markings were not acceptable to the parents or their familial beliefs.
Would you feel so benevolent if your child came home all marked up with Satanistic quotations and denouncements of The Bible, KJV or otherwise?
No, nothing like carnival face painting. The kind of henna tattoos in the article pics will last about a month.
[ Even more stupid is the supposed connection between âMuslim and Hindu faithsâ ]
considering the Muslims killed MILLIONS of Hindus during the muhgul invasion of India...
What concepts behind the markings? What “Satanistic” quotations? These are doodles. You’re nuts.

Bewdy. Then when your curtainclimber comes home all marked up with penis and vaginal henna displays and comments all over themselves, I am certain that you will not have any problems with that whatsoever.
(Not a personal attack, by the way. Just making a point.)
Re: My # 12...
You’re really weird.
And please calm down, mate. Please re-read what I posted previously again, but a bit more slowly this time, right?
Cheers.
Flattery will get you nothing more than attention from this end, mate. *grin*
Cheers!
You think the public abuse of a child is innocent do you, you moronic piece of crap!
Obviously.
This has now gotten more than just ridiculous!
Really ugly job. I’ve been to an Indian wedding where the bride had her hands done and it was very pretty. It does last for some time. Even if it’s a beautiful job the school overstepped.
