Now that I'm away from the 140 character limit, I lived in Traben-Trarbach for four years during my tour in Germany. I was always content to drive up and down the Mosel looking for a weinfest or castle to visit. Trier, Cochem, Burg Eltz, and other locales were great places to visit.
When I was stationed at Spangdahlem, my drive home would take me over the ridge at Urzig. The view of the Mosel always dissipated whatever work-related stress I had.
Once a month, I'd drive up to Koblenz to dine at the Konigsbacher brewery. Their restaurant had a fine jagerschnitzel, and bock beer was on tap 365 days a year. The drive home would take me past the Lorelei, and I always stopped in Bacharach.
Hopefully, I didn't sound like a know-it-all, that was not my intent.
