A small correction to your post. “Trump was praising Romney for his gentle approach to illegal immigrants...”
He actually said Romney was being “mean-spirited” about his “gentle” approach. In other words, he thought Romney was being too tough on the issue of illegals.
Just another of his position reversals. What Trump said in the past doesn’t matter to his supporters. Likewise, what Trump says now doesn’t matter to me.
Actually not.....he praised Romney for his “gentle approach” and some time later chastized various Republicans forbeing “mean spirited”.
