This movie did a lot to blur the (non-serious) Catholic-Protestant tensions in my childhood neighborhood. My (staunchly Protestant) mother was overcome when Bing’s mother came down the aisle in the end, and the Protestants just couldn’t resist singing Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral.

THIS is a CLASSIC. I’ve been watching it for over 45 yrs. You have to be raised in that kind of setting to really get into it. One of my All Time Favorites!!!

... when Bingâs mother came down the aisle in the end, and the Protestants just couldnât resist singing Too-Ra-Loo-Ra-Loo-Ral...I loved that segment too, but I may be wrong - I think it was in "Going My Way" with Barry Fitzgerald as the old priest, not "The Bells of St. Mary's" with Ingrid Bergman as the nun.....
