Watching “The Curse of Oak Island” is kind of fun. They’ve found some interesting things. Some theories are kind of kooky, but they’re not the ones presenting them. They just want to find what’s there.
Last week it was the Aztecs, before that the Knights Templar, pirates, the British Navy, and I forget who else. I imagine a lot of people have been to Oak Island in the last few thousand years.
I like the brothers, but wish that the History Channel were not involved in any way.
The show is silly, the partners are not using the technology available to find what is there.
I suggest:
1) Do test borings to determine the soil profiles and the locations of fresh and sea water.
2) Do a seismic survey to determine if voids exist and the top of rock.
3) Pump the shaft they dumped the green dye into. You need to clear the water for the camera investigation.
4) Retain a engineering company, to plan and review the geotechnical information.
5) Call Michels Corporation in Wisconsin, they can do anything needed to enable excavation to the bottom, in the dry.
They have driven shafts and tunnels in much more difficult conditions.
6) Grout closed the connections to the bay and stop the water.
7) Develop a dewatering plan to remove the water.
8) Develop a grouting plan to stabilize the soils in the shaft areas.
9) Develop a plan to excavate and support the work and make it safe.
10) Mike Rowe is a more pleasing narrator, in my option.
Exactly...
They have so far found some interesting things that at least bring into question parts of accepted historical records..
