I’ve wondered the same thing. What are they cleaning exactly? Dusting the outside of the gun?

I ‘clean’ a gun after firing it, and step 2 is taking it apart (step 1 of course is clearing it).

Democrat and Sheriff. Two words that just do not belong together.

I was first issued a CCW by a Democrat sheriff, and when I moved a year later, a different Democrat sheriff renewed it with no problem. They were both pretty good guys that didn't let politics interfere too much with the office. However...

The third Democrat sheriff I dealt with kept me from renewing, and did so in the "best" Democrat political machine tradition. That office still issues them grudgingly.

I'm with you. How in Heaven's name can a gun go off when cleaning it? You're either cleaning it, or you're pulling the trigger on a gun without know whether or not its loaded.

In order to shoot yourself or someone else unintentionally, you have to break all four rules of gun safety.

No you probably don’t unless they are black powder weapons. Modern day weapons use cartridges, not bullets.

I think it's code for I was playing with my gun and I pulled the trigger. Same for those who claim to not know the gun was loaded. Well, first of all if the gun's not loaded, why have it? Secondly, all guns are loaded until they are cleared and verified by the person holding it.
