This is a special song in our family.

My father was a missionary child in the early 20th century. Those missionaries were special, dedicated people. To ensure that their children got a good education, they sent them to a missionary boarding school within the country. Can you imagine sending your 6-year old off to school and not seeing him for months? My father, like many, came to the United States in his teen years, to live with a host family and attend high school, then college, in the U.S.

There were a lot of goodbyes for missionary families. God Be With You Til We Meet Again was the song that was song when missionary families said goodbye to fellow missionaries and their families. They knew that it would be a long time until they saw each other again, but they knew that, through Christ, they would always Meet Again.
