In my opinion the government types think they will be able to control the situation short of armed conflict. They are that short sighted.
None are looking past today. Just whatever it takes to keep their cushy Jobs.
They want the cheap labor now to pay for the unsustainable social programs that have kept them in power for decades.
If it takes bringing in undesirables then so be it.
