Many also have credit cards that "give back" - like 1%. BFD.

That can run up to a few hundred bucks a year for the average household. Plus you get a complete account of monthly expenditures on the statement.

Agreed.

The return has been hundreds of dollars in cash for us.

For a while, we went for the merchandise but the cash is a better value.
