To be fair the bible isn’t very kind to dogs either.
Dogs are actually pretty frightening creatures to some people, I guess it is a personality thing.
Contrary to popular opinion, dogs are not “best friend” to the person chosen as master, the relationship is much more complex than that. The concept of “friend” does not even enter the dog’s mind. The dog’s master is more of the “alpha” of the pack the dog has chosen to join, and the whole psychology of the dog is built on that relationship. The “alpha” may, in an objective sense, be a failure in the world, but the follower dog will ignore these signs of failure, and if need be, leap fiercely to the forefront to defend the “alpha” with every ounce of loyalty of which he is capable, often displaying a degree of empathy and ingenuity that seem to come from an almost divine source.
People rarely ask the dog what he may think of the relationship.
