You must be the type of person who looks at the Mona Lisa and says, “What’s the big deal? It’s just a few dabs of carbon, some trace metals and minerals, and chalk, all mixed together with a bit of linseed oil.”

All I need to know about my dog is every day when I leave for work I get the most pathetic sad puppy face ever. When I return she leaps with joy and we have to hug.

By far, the best greeting I could ever have.

How did you get that impression from what I said? Dogs are what they are, and while the symbiosis they have forged with some of mankind is unique, trying to explain it as "Man's best friend", simply does not address the relationship.

Dogs are not universally "friends" of ALL mankind. The selection of dog to man is actually much more of a two-way process.
