And just a few years ago, astronomers thought that ALL of the universe was contained in our Milky Way galaxy. And now we know that our galaxy is just one of seemingly countless numbers of galaxies that can be observed by Hubble. It’s a rather humbling thought.
But a question about the high resolution photos. Why are they copyright to Jose Jiminez Priego? With a google search I found another image that said: Credit: Hubble Legacy Archive, NASA, ESA - Processing: José Jiménez Priego. Is he the guy who takes the Hubble raw pictures and colors them which ties the image to the actual chemical makeup of the cloud we see?
Because Jose went to the moon.
He’s the same guy, presumably. I think this image had appeared in APoD before, but a quick search turned up nothing.
