Thanks, was hoping someone would do the list. Have never heard of the majority of the breds.

Basset Hound. Don’t laugh. Thats a full size dog on half size legs.

Ungodly loud bark that sounds like a dog 3 times the size.

Will absolutely tear apart the ‘lower extremities of an invader while being harder to hit due to height.

Can and will chase said invader through the roughest terrain barking all the while so you know where to go ‘find him’.

Sure they are all cute and slobbery. The next time you see one, have the owner show you the teeth in that bejowled mouth and think of the damage potential there.

Comes as no surprise, there seems to be no hound breeds as they are not particularly territorial dogs. To them the entire world is their territory, they are roamers. Hounds are all about the hunt.

I'm surprised the Norwegian Elkhound didn't make the list. The Elkhound is a fantastic, fierce, powerful and loyal dog (but the hair).

Thanks for the list. We’ve been fostering a Great Pyrenees since early August and that dog would rip the head off anyone who broke into our home and yet she’s so lovable and goofy. She may end up being a foster fail.

LOL A considerable number on this list aren’t just alarms, they’re one dog defense systems (Kuvasz? Yikes)

+1 on the Chi. My Eskies are good, but the little guy runs *everybody*. BAD tempered if they p*ss him off. They scatter. A pack of Chihuahuas can take down a deer.

Sal, I owe you an email re animals in Heaven book.

I want to know why Bull Terrier is on there if “large” is required. Bull Terriers, nor several of the breeds, are actually large. More like medium.
