I was responding to someone who was reporting that the oil industry creates jobs, trying to point out that that is not a good argument, since ethanol does the same thing for Iowa that oil does for Texas.
And, rightly or wrongly, Trump is perceived as being the strongest to deal with the issues that count. I've lived with ethanol subsidies for 20 years or more and it hasn't affected my life, that I can tell, one iota. Yah, I'm agin' em on principle, but right now the nation is in danger of being overrun and destroyed, and as good a guy as Ted is, he simply isn't up to the task of turning this around.
