I can understand those predisposed to get lung cancer being happy about this, but why would a vaccine against lung cancer give those already suffering from from it a reason to celebrate?

If you read the article, vaccine seems to be a misnomer for this drug.

If you read the whole thing, it explains that it is not a vaccine in a preventative sense.

the article says it is a treatment for after you get lung cancer. the vaccine does not prevent cancer it fights the deadly effects of the cancer turning it into a chronic but treatable problem rather then on that kills.
