Move over swallows, motivational quotes and giant roses on your bum – the latest tattoo trend is 'scarification'.
The painful process involves removing a layer of skin and flesh with a scalpel in the shape of your desired design - and then filling the design in with ink.
When the area heals over, the scar becomes an elaborate tattoo.
LOL. That is way too funny.

Still does not preclude that it is a mental illness. Cultural practices do not get a pass when indicated that some people are just screwed up.
