I totally believe this. Women (including me) drive by way of monuments. ie. go 2 miles and turn at the Baptist church then left at the Kroger.
Men are directional ie go SW on Harbinger Street for 2 miles and then turn north on Hiccup Rd. etc.
I can find my way anywhere if you just tell me how to get there but reading a map no way. :-)
This only makes sense. Humans have spent the vast majority of our existence as hunter-gathers. The men hunted game while the women gathered plant-based food. In the heat of the chase men didn’t have time to orient their positions by landmarks, they had to depend on an inner sense of direction—where the sun is in the sky, etc. Women could walk—they’d have to, since they had kids in tow and plenty of time to note rocks, odd trees, etc.
McDonalds and Cracker Barrel.
Actually, both sexes navigate by vectors and landmarks. Women tend to rely more on landmarks, men are better with vectors (direction and distance).
