If I didn’t already have a converted Saiga12, I would buy the VEPR. I have three VEPR rifles and they are a little more solidly built than the Saiga rifles.
I have not had any complaints about the Saiga though.
Both can be slightly mag picky, but that seems the natural state of mag feed semi shotguns. If you follow the mag fitting instruction they normally work flawlessly.
The other item to read up on is the gas adjustment. Web searches on both will get loads of info.
