I could not name a female pianist until I watched this video.
All the pianists I’m familar with are male.

Obviously you never heard of the Lebeque sisters: Katia and Marielle Labeque. They were FABULOUS and performed all over the world.
Clara Schumanm, Robert Schumanm's wife, was a famous pianist.
Nina Simone, Martha Argerich...look up "famous women pianists" on Google. Some composed.

I grew up hearing NOTHING but classical music. And it was almost all piano since that is what my father liked.
He didn't like opera but when the "Songs of the Auvergne" came out, sung by Natania Davrath, Soviet-born soprano opera and concert singer--he bought the record. I still listen to it occcasionally.

You're welcome.

As a kid I wanted to listen to rockn'roll, not classical music. But I didn't have much of a choice. Of course, NOW that's all I listen to.
Well, occasionally I put on the Spanish-speaking station to hear some salsa. It gets me through the worse traffic. :o)

That was, well, exquisite! Bump for a few replays before the CD gets here.

IMHO, one of the two finest pieces of music not written by Bach (the other is Tchaikovsky's 1st Piano Concerto), and superbly done

Another poster said the orchestra overpowered the piano; just a little, maybe, in the first movement, but that's how the piece is written...

I liked the tempo. Often, it's slowed down for lesser pianists.
