10cc are an English art rock band founded in Stockport who achieved their greatest commercial success in the 1970s. The band initially consisted of four musiciansâGraham Gouldman, Eric Stewart, Kevin Godley, and Lol Cremeâwho had written and recorded together for some three years, before assuming the name "10cc" in 1972.
For the most part, 10cc featured two strong songwriting teams, one "commercial" and one "artistic", but both teams injected sharp wit into lyrically dextrous and musically varied songs. Stewart and Gouldman were predominantly pop-songwriters, who created most of the band's accessible songs. By way of contrast, Godley and Creme were the predominantly experimental half of 10cc, featuring an Art School sensibility and cinematic inspired writing.[5]
Every member of 10cc was a multi-instrumentalist, singer, writer and producer, and the writing teams frequently switched partners, so that Godley/Gouldman or Creme/Stewart compositions were not uncommon. After Godley and Creme left the band in 1976, Gouldman and Stewart were the main creative forces behind 10cc. Stewart left the band in 1996, and Gouldman continues to lead a touring version of 10cc.
Most of the band's albums were recorded at their own Strawberry Studios (North) in Stockport and Strawberry Studios (South) in Dorking, with most of those engineered by Stewart. 10cc were co-managed by Ric Dixon and Harvey Lisberg at Kennedy Street, who had represented the individual members of the band since the mid-1960s.

Ping
The moment I hear “10cc” (and I don’t hear it too often) I get “The Things We Do For Love” in my head. It’ll take a few hours to get it out.
IIRC, “I’m not in love” was the first pop song to utilize a digital sampling keyboard riff- the background harmonies.

Thumbs up to citing the wiki entry, these guys figured in some hits before 10CC were a band, these are mostly good songs their songwriter penned before the band:
“Gouldman, meanwhile, had made a name for himself as a hit songwriter, penning “Heart Full of Soul”, “Evil Hearted You” and “For Your Love” for The Yardbirds, “Look Through Any Window” and “Bus Stop” for The Hollies and “No Milk Today”, “East West” and “Listen People” for Herman’s Hermits.”

And the article goes on for those interested.
The Hollies and I believe Herman’s Hermits also were/are from Manchester.
No connection whatsoever, however, I certainly enjoy this rendition of Suite Judy Blue Eyes by CS&N.

*Im Not In Love* Still a favorite after all these years. That track is hardly a groove any longer - played so many times its become a trench.
Thank you for that!! Amazing how much time and effort is needed to create a beautiful masterpiece. In comparing much of the music heard today - the difference is certainly heard. Off to pull my copy of the shelf and play a few more rounds for this Sunday morning.
That entire album is one great LP!
Amazing how inventive people were in the studio back then, nowadays with all the software it hardly takes any imagination.
