False dichotomy. The reason we value life is because it comes from God. We each have a divine purpose. We are not the product of chaos. For that reason, we are fully justified defending innocent life with lethal force if necessary.
But guns are only a stopgap measure. Better, isn't it, to have a culture where we don't have to live in fear of being burned alive by humans who have lost their humanity? Guns will fend off the zombies for a while, but at some point you have to stop making more zombies. Subcultures that breed feral humans must be disrupted, shut down, and rebuilt from scratch.

Well said, I might add that I will take God and heaven over bad guys and fire anytime. God allows and wants us to fight against evil, but we do so with him or we have lost the war.
