The article is so poorly written it is hard to say.

However, many corporate customers prefer to test updates before they are released - especially on critical servers.

All I got out of this is that ‘Win 10 IOT’ looks like hackerz-speak for WIN IDIOT.

Maybe it’s a coincidence...

I'm sure a lot still do, yes. OTOH, there are a lot of Embedded Windows devices out there, that are wildly out of date, too.

Like that old technical-support joke about the user with the "ID-ten-T" error...

It wouldn't be the first time Microsoft has come up with a name or acronym that has a "coincidental" unflattering alternate reading.

I came very close to trying Windows 10 again. It was downloaded, but the install just sat there for what seemed like forever. So I rebooted and forgot about it.
Then I see all these horror stories.
I see Linux Mint just rolled out 17.3 version!

Gee, I flushed Flash down the drain a couple months ago over their reported crappy security.

Does this mean Adobe isn’t going to love me anymore, either?

(I’m beginning to wonder if some of these ‘puter folks are just trying to drive ALL their customers away. Must be some severe drugs going on in somebody’s little world....)

Thanks.... Like I posted before I am getting suspicious of Windows 10. I will not “upgrade” to it. And will probably move from Win7 to Win 8.1 at some point so I can get updates further into the future past 2020

Thing-makers have a dreadful track record of implementing patches, as the SOHOpeless state of routers and industrial control kit demonstrate.

Yup. That's one of the reasons I went to a DD-WRT router for the house.
