I think Americans are largely crazy when it comes to health. Remember the Medicine Man? The health beliefs of Americans, both ordinary and prominent, is really weird. Read some social history. Stonewall Jackson used to suck lemons, hold his right arm up in the air to balance his health, and take in the waters. Today we have anti immunization freaks, vitamin freaks etc.
Americans have been lied to a oong time about what is healthy, from their government and so called experts. The low fat high carb diets and highly processed food crap is causing problems by people eating not shat they really need and eating “food” that has a lot of beneficial things taken out of it for shelf life, not nutrition. Eating tasty cardboard may taste good but if you dont give your body good building blocks to use you end up with deficiencies.
