Orthopedist to boot. Lots and lots of opiods prescribed in those practices.
My son has two brothers-in-law who are both orthopedists. They say that despite their warnings, the number of patients who keep coming back for more meds is astonishing.
Which begs the question - why? How did we survive pain decades ago without this incredible addiction rate?
Can't anyone make a drug today without these terrible side effects?

Part of the issue is that prior to 1900 all drugs where legal. People could buy and use cocaine, morphine, opiods and anything else they wanted to use for a small price. Completely legal.

These people where addicts, but often functional. Now we have made everything illegal and addicts are subsidized by SSI and commit crimes to get their fix.

I’ve had two knee replacements in the last year and was on Oxy and Dilaudid for the pain....
Had no prob giving them up but can see how easy it is to get hooked...
Consider these pain control Meds progress...I don’t like pain...but user beware...
