The mayor isn't happy but the police chief is right. Guns deter crime and they work just as well at deterring terrorism.
Then there are the gang bangers and lord knows how many guns they have.
So I bet this guy and David Clarke are now both on the wealthy, urbane anti-gun hypocrite Democrat sh*t list.
Detroit has 30,000 people legally armed, which works out to about 1 in every 23 people and the chief says they can make a difference.
The great thing about James Craig is the fact that he’s a convert from strict gun control. He was an LA cop for years and then found himself as a police chief in Maine and it cured him.
I think if terrorists want to get a reaction, Detroit would not be the target to pick.
Terrorists wouldn’t have to go far. Dearborn, where English is hardly spoken, and the city government and police chief are moslem, is next door. So is one of the country’s biggest mosques.
So I’d doubt Dearborn would be a target. I don’t think Detroit would be a target either, they’d rather hit somewhere that’s low crime, as are some of the suburbs.
That is disturbing. Please don’t post that again.
I don’t buy it. I don’t think a prevalance of firearm owners will make much difference.
These are people who have already been involved in an all out war in the middle east for a long time, and they are also bot your typical criminal types who want to steal your TV.
Texas has a rather large concentration of gun owners, that didn’t stop the attack in Garland, at a facility already patrolled by police.
Their primary targets will be New York and DC. New York is the face of western culture to most of the world, DC is our capitol. Many people might be willing to give them directions to the white house, I can think of a few people there we probably wouldn’t miss much.
But I don’t think the presence of gun owners will deter them much at all. They want the entire country destroyed, our culture, our way of life, everything completely wiped out is their goal. They will attack anywhere and everywhere with little regard to who has guns.
And if I’m wrong, I hope you live long enough to say I told you so...
He flamed out here in Cincinnati. Didn’t really do much except for making black uniforms standard. He refused to take the city mandated Police Chief exam after they hired him and that generated a lot of public pressure against him.
