No way squinty-eyed little yellow men flying toy planes could TOUCH one of our mighty battleships. No way a bunch of illiterate goat humpers could bomb New York City and kill 3000 people.
Our "invulnerable" Navy is short ships, short men, and VERY short replacement shipbuilding capacity.
You are entirely correct. Our navy us currently under-manned, under-equipped and over-tasked. You can't keep cutting funds and expect the same level of performance. Eventually things start to break, men and machines.
This is only the latest in a string of publicized war-game failures our Navy has suffered.
