Well, as for snow cover, your map is somewhat incorrect.

The lower mainland and lower Vancouver Island have ZERO snow. None, zero, nada, rien.

It is pretty damned COLD, though. Hard frosts for the last week plus.

It’s 4 degrees below freezing as I type this.

While a few degrees below don’t seem like much to those who live in the snowbelt, I can tell you that minus 5 at 70% humidity feels FAR colder than -20 @ 5%. Really.

To emphasize your point: I have experienced -30 F in Michigan and Minnesota.

But I have never felt the cold like I did in Alabama at +40 F and 70% Humidity. Work outside all day in that and, when you come in, it's a good hour in front of the fire to unchill your bones.
