My wife had an accident as a teen - she was in shock and “had to get to work”! (A block away.) She said she was thinking “If I can just make it to work, everything will be okay”. A cop tried to stop her and she punched him! Thank goodness it was back in the day and he just grabbed her and sat her down on her butt.
So sad - I’m guessing this gal was in shock as well.
Being in shock makes you do stupid things.
