The Official Fallout 4 Thread
11/28./2015 | By Laz A. Mataz

Posted on 11/28/2015 7:53:03 PM PST by Lazamataz

Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.

Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"

Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.

Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.

I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:

Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat

Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.

Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"

Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"

Metallica's "Enter Sandman"

NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"

Any other suggestions?

:) Gotchya

I’ve logged 219 hours and I cannot say I’ve “got” Fallout 4 in gameplay, yet. :)

humblegunner, please invest in the machine you need, then this game. I promise ya, I really do.

The platform stripper boots provide a measure of safety. Skyrim is a land torn by centuries of brutal warfare and there;s broken swords and sharp debris everywhere. And the world of Fallout is likewise a danger with all the jagged metal scattered around by the Great Division of Lord Atom in which the frail and wretched bodies of the believers gave birth to a trillion new stars.

They keep Lydia’s feet safe in the event she were to inadvertently step on something sharp. It is purely a OSHA issue.

Now that you have the horsepower, and once you need a break from Fallout, Get thee to the Nexus and download and install “Real Vision” for Skyrim.

OH MY GOD. Words cannot describe the difference.

I never screwed with ENBs because I didn’t want to deal with the framerate hit. but now that I have the horsepower, Good God what a difference. Looks like a whole new game.

When they make one for F4 it’s going to be incredible. Atmospheric as hell. The lighting is unreal. I would GLADLY buy a second R9 card and Crossfire them if I had to. It’s THAT good. The Youtube videos of Real Vision look awesome but to actually play in it is something to behold.

You still have a month or two for the F4 Creation Kit/Geck to come out so start saving your pennies for another 870 just in case. It won’t be long after that. ;)

My daughter asked what Daddy wanted for Christmas. I told her that since I was such a kind and loving father a 120 in screen Vizio would be nice but being the ungrateful wretch she is, she balked at the price.

Kids these days... She said I might have to settle for a puny 70 in.

Trump ain’t got nothing on me when it comes to ‘The Art of the Deal” ;)

My God it just dawned on me. My GFX card has Eyefinity capability for multi monitor and any resolution or screen orientation!

I could get TWO 70 inch monitors and turn one portrait mode and have Lydia lifesize! Including the wings! OH JOY! OH HAPPY DAY!!!

OK who wants to head up the kickstarter to help Normie achieve his fondest wish (at least until Laz gets done coding the Lydia Sexbot AI)?

I’ve nailed Piper, Preston, Cait and Hancock.

There’s no option for Codsworth or Dogmeat, or I’d be shagging them too.

Working on Valentine, the synth.

Well, being an unrepentant pixelsexual, I’m not gonna judge. But I do have an appropriate nominee for the new (in light of current events) Laz theme song.
