Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.
Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"
Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.
Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.
I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:
Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat
Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.
Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"
Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"
NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"
Any other suggestions?
I have been enjoying watching my son play the game. He has gone into the water purification business.

Happiness is getting jumped by about 20 Warlord class Super mutants while listening to the classical radio station, and having Ride of the Valkryes come on just as two Brotherhood Vertibirds start doing a Spooky gunship imitation overhead during a night fight and dropping off several Billy Badasses with miniguns. Complete sXitstorm.
God I love this game.

of the sort compatible with my short-bus machinery.

Actually we are at best, midrange by today’s standards. Check yourube for triple and 4 Titan card SLI systems.
Not counting the actual computer or monitors, thats $6,000 worth of video cards. Add another $5K for multiple 4K monitors and probably $4K for a custom liquid cooled box.
It’s insane especially considering Oculus Rift is just around the corner and will blow it away for immersion.
But I suppose a $10K game rig does make for a hell of an E-penis.
I don’t remember now what it was, but something new came out
maybe a decade ago and I bought a 1400 buck laptop to accommodate it.
Machine got destroyed on a cruise about a year later.
And you’re still some elitist high-end bastiges so long as I can’t run the dang game.
Well there is the term “PC Master Race” some lesser console gamers try to mock us with.... But you are a PC guy so just think of yourself as temporarily disabled. ;)

If, say, ‘someone’ went out and killed 1600 pieces of garbage and 2400 various and assorted other pieces of wasteland abomination, that wouldn’t make him a bad man would it?
Because er...someone... doesn’t FEEL like a psychotic homicidal maniac. I...someone I mean, loves puppies. And ponies. Beautiful power armored ponies and puppies with steel plating...
If you have balky settlers. whether they are stuck on a roof, trapped inside walls, won't go to work, sell at stores or whatever device they use to shirk their jobs, just fast travel to your settlement from your settlement and everyone will pop into place.
I had a trader stall dude that would always end up on the roof of my 2 story bunkhouse, so he never went to work, I'd go up on the roof and take the roof piece off so he'd fall down into the building but then he would stay there, I had the old sight bag-lady end up in the "attic" of one of the houses and wouldn't come down no way, no how.
Fast traveling cured all this and takes less time than chasing them down.
