Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.
Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"
Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.
Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.
I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:
Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat
Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.
Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"
Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"
NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"
Any other suggestions?

Now when you spend the bucks and experience the sheer joy of Fallout 4, you are absolved from guilt because it was my fault. I caused Laz to up his video card and he cursed the day of my birth. But he’s happy now.
I will follow the example set by the greatest of Valkerye warriors, Lydia, and carry the burden of guilt for you.
Problem solved.
If I don’t bleed out first I’ll try to snatch a Dell package off someone’s porch.
Or something.

Cheapest way is probably a PS4 from a crackhead. God knows theres enough around.
Now there’s a plan that might oughta work...
I changed out my hard drive to 2TB today. PS4 could not have made it any more easy!!! Now I’ll be getting down to kicking some serious bot butt!!! HOORAH!
Well this sucks!
I finally decided to get TeH serieZ about learning the crafting sys and build a monument to my greatness high atop a monster tower in the middle of Sanctuary. I was thinking Twin Towers style over time. Just keep going up and up as materials allow.
My greatness will have to be displayed 5 floors high and no more unless modders obliterate the barrier. Because there is one. I figured there would be but I didn’t think 5 would be the max. Kidding aside I figured like 10 or so.
My life is ruined. How will I possibly go on?
Maybe I’ll try a 5 story concrete wall around the perimeter and prove walls work ;)
Perhaps it’s the limit on total resources used in a settlement. There is a mod to change that.
They had to draw the line somewhere I guess, otherwise people would be building megatowers and crashing for lack of VRAM...then screaming at Beth because of it.
I’m waiting to mod until after the Creation Kit is out (and I finish the game at least once stock.
Come to think of it, Skyrim had a couple cap remover mods as well. The 4Gig mod that opened up the useable memory cap and the open world mod that made the insides of the big holds part of the greater world - no load screens/seemeless movement from outside to inside the walls.
Settlement hell!
Where are all these people coming from? I’m shuffling people allover the Commonwealth. Sim City! I go to my house in Sanctuary after narrowly avoiding a 50 cal to the knee and what do I find? 17 (literally) people in my living room just standing there. Definitely adds a whole other level to the game.
I am thinking that putting up only 2 or 3 recruiting beacons at a time and fleshing out the settlements completely before adding more is the way to go.
And establishing trade routes is a MUST to avoiding a metric ton of fast traveling to get junk to build with.
The upside is once the mods get flowing I actually will be able to fulfill my destiny and bring boobs to the boobless. Should help the Happiness factor in settlements a lot.
And WTF is the deal with Connie Abernathy? Does anyone know?
I have never seen a chick get kidnapped like this in my life. I’m starting to suspect poor Blake is footing the ‘ransom’ for some midlife crisis action here.
And ‘Sweet Connie’ doesn’t seem to care who is carrying her off for a little bondage and debauchery. Hey I’m not making it up. Every time Preston sends my metal but out to play fetch sans Dogmeat, there she is behind the tool shed in some supermutant enclave trussed up like a Christmas turkey. Or some Raider crew has her stuffed in the back of a van. All that’s missing is the “Free Candy” rattlecan paintjob.

And of course, Blake is just thrilled to have her back...for all of 10 min before POOF! off she goes in some Provisioner’s luggage as soon as I leave the farm.
I wish they’d hurry up and get the good mods online. Once they do I’m just leaving her there. Maybe I could see if the Institute could replace her...

Are you kidding? How could I be the Hero of the People (trademark applied for) if I were not named Volarian Lionheart? Clearly Bethesda is aware of my great deeds in Skyrim/F3/NV and included the name in F4 specifically as a tribute to honor all the boobs I brought to the boobless peoples of those troubled lands!
I mean come on. It’s not like “Lionheart” has ever been a name of historical significance or anything. Why else would they have added it? Naturally, it was all about me. Because I’m special. And I deserved it.

Fallout 4 is moving in there with it.

They wield a weapon that transcends the destructive nature of the Atom Bomb, The ISIS Sleeper Agent, what is Technology compared to true believers?
They Masquerade and Friends or Co-Workers, this notion that people come here to kill us while working along side us, is offensive and Horribly Dangerous.
Therefore, They should be considered Enemies and be dealt with swiftly and Mercilessly.
I will briefly explain.
Basically, you have a Four Factions fighting over Energy, Water and other resources that will make or break them.
You have a Republic that has grown so large and Corrupt that it can't even pretend to control it's own borders, while it sends it's Army off on Far Away Adventures and entanglements while it's borders remain wide open.
In The East, you have a Vast Slaver Army who is a throw back to earlier more brutal times and doesn't allow for modern notions of right and wrong to stand in their way, led by a central figure who uses a brutal religion to indoctrinate and enslave the people he conquers or wipes out.
While in Vegas itself you have a Autocratic Technocrat who wants all the power and means at his finger tips and everyone to be his puppet.
Finally, you have the people of Vegas, a Band of Tribals, ingrates and Gamblers who couldn't agree on if it was raining even if they were soaking wet.
Now in Fallout 4 we have infiltrators who pretend to be your friend but will kill you as soon as look at you and The Invading Civilizing Forces options are rapidly demising to Nuking the Entire Site from orbit just be sure.
...not to mention a whole host of drug raged roadside cutthroats to keep you company.
Todd Howard is a prophet. Or a frontman representing the few good people left in govt trying to warn us of our future. But this guy has SOMETHING more going on than simply making entertainment products. Maybe he’s just incredibly observant and good at packaging what he sees into a sellable product. But he’s a bit more on the ball than the common man.
