Had to do it. Had to create the thread. The game is too damned good. This thread is reserved for hardcore gamers who play Fallout 4. Norm, KC, TADSLOS and I have hijacked so many threads discussing this game, I felt we needed our own thread.
Fallout 4 is amazing. The content is excessively large. There is so much to explore, you could replay this game 10 times and not find every mission or quest. The characters are so much better fleshed out than any other game I have played. Even the radio announcer of Diamond City Radio will have you doubling over in laughter, he's so inept at radio announcing. :) Your companions will pitch in with consistently new, sometimes insightful, and almost always area- or mission appropriate comments. I even got Piper (the hot Reporter chick) to sleep with me. It took a lot of sweet talking. But now she's in love. "Piper, how do you feel about our relationship?" Her answer: "Blue, this is as close to nirvana as I will ever find. Who knew a jaded reporter like me would find love in a wasteland?"
Fallout 4 is so graphics-intensive that I had to upgrade my video card to the GTX970 from Nividia, and I am so glad I did. 4 gigs of video memory, and a solid GPU array. Now I get 60 FPS (at the best) down to about 30 FOS (at the worst) with occasional dips to an unacceptable 24 FPS when in extremely busy, high clutter city areas with lots of combatants.
Our first topic: I want to mod the songs. I want change the Classical Radio Station to play songs I like.
I have six titles so far, that would fit in this game:
Filter's "Hey Man, Nice Shot" to be triggered during combat
Drowning Pool's "Let The Bodies Hit The Floor", also triggered during combat.
Lil Jon's "Turn Down For What"
Disturbed's "Down With The Sickness"
NIN's "Every Day Is Exactly The Same"
Any other suggestions?
Put me onya ping list, pleeze!
I recently spent a couple weeks at my daughters (26 YO). She grew up with me playing various games/playing them together Mystery Science Theater 3000 style.
While I was there her best friend (mid 30s) came by and was laughing at her ‘nerding out with the old guy”. After an hour she was laughing her butt off and forgot all about the ‘nerding out’ thing. ;)
Well THAT was interesting. I think I just found the ander to HG’s question about whether F4 is a FPS or an RPG.
I just had a firefight in the Gunner Plaza/GNN building with pretty much every Gunner in the game. It completely tore up a set of fully maxed Mark 7 T60 power armor, drained my stimpack supply and got me addicted 3 times from all the psycho, Jet and medX I was mainlining.
And this was a simple side quest. And I had Danse with me. I would hate to think what that would have taken with no power armor and the dog.
This is like the third large scale war I have come across. NV or F# had NOTHING even in the ballpark of this madness. If this was Skyrim I’d have gone in there with about 3 followers in Daedric. And STILL had a hell of a time clearing the place. The freaking Commonwealth of Fallugia.
I almost picked it up at Walmart yesterday, 60 bucks.
It was locked up though and I didn’t want to bother digging up somebody with a key.
I haz a intrigued.
A couple days back I had one night battle in a city with Raiders and Gunners. It looked like the footage from our planes going into Iraq. But with lazers instead of tracers.
A couple days before there was another Raider war in the city that had incoming fore from buildings, freeways...about 4 levels of height and coming from all sides.
This one was an inside the building (big building) clearing mission. And bear in mind in addition to the metal/composite power that got shredded, I’m at lev 57 with all my attack type stats maxed.
As they say in France...Le’poop was le’deep.
Fun, fun stuff.
Enough!
I’ll have it by the weekend.
I can save a couple bucks by running by Gamestop where the games ain’t in jail.
Or at least they weren’t last time I was there.
No worries. Peace and harmony are just around the corner. Walk into the light...
I don’t think you’ll regret the purchase.
I am more a fan of Skyrim/fantasy type games although I like Fallout type post nuke/scenarios in general. But this thing is on a whole other level even with no mods. It’s going to have a 10 year lifespan once the modders get it sussed.
Up next - the 70 in TV. Oh yes. I will have one.
Bethesda’s trying to kill us.
Once in Fallout: New Vegas, I had the fight to end all fights. It was at some unimportant train station. I got like 18 deathclaws and 3 Mister Gutsy’s all in a row. They didn’t mob me all at once, but after the first group, here came the second, and the third, and the fourth, and so on. I was all WTF, Bethesda. WHAT DID I DO TO YOU???
It was weird. Exhilerating, and I survived it, so it was cool as hell, but JUST DAMN.
18 *DEATHCLAWS* baby. I went to Primm and had a shirt made with the number 18 on it.
:) Welcome to the Wasteland, Vault Dweller. :)
There was a lot of light. Missle explosions, Mini nukes going off in a building. Lazers and plasma...
Lots and lots of light.
And I left there with over 1000 pounds of burdens and no Lydia. I find it completely unfair that I have to now walk half way across Boston carrying my own burdens and all I have to look at is a dude in a tin suit.
No justice, no peace...
You won’t see it a penny less than 60.
You can order it right now on Steam. You will have it as fast as you can download it, and it will always be re-downloadable in your library.
There is an upside to getting the deluxe boxed editions of course. Bobbleheads, posters... collectable shit that might be worth a buck someday.
My favorite was 3 elder dragons at once in Sky. At about L20. that was rather exerting. Especially since I don’t carry a bow. Lydia had to keep peppering them until they landed. I got breathed on a bunch.
I anticipate the need to fondle it.
Best prices were in Ferguson a few months ago.
Justice.
#VaultLivesMatter.
I didn’t get the coupon...It’s cuz I’m white, isn’t it.
I am being O-pressed.
That's what she said.
Free the gun?
L! O! L!
:)
If the country lasts until Oct 2016, boy oh boy do I have a lot of new toys to bring to Texas for the TCMS.
8 and counting higher!
