At last, a thread about something important ;-) What we really need is a thread about the absurdity of this week’s championship playoff rankings.

A lot of people appreciate it and look forward to it. You don’t have to read this thread.
Get a life.

BTW, I can’t imagine what the committee was thinking when they put Oklahoma 3rd.

A buddy of mine who is a big time Sooners fan wondered the same thing.

I used to watch pro football but now I only watch the playoffs and Super bowl. I’m getting into college football now and really enjoy it more than pro ball.

The TCU team had all the momentum, and it looked like Oklahoma would be destroyed in overtime. Then Patterson (coach) decides to grandstand. OU got outplayed by a team that was missing its main offensive weapons and was playing a third stringer QB. I understand that sometimes you get lucky, but that game should have dropped OU in the standings. Baylor, for example, beat OSU convincingly and gets overlooked by the committee. Iowa hasn’t faced a real opponent, and I’m sure it couldn’t beat Ohio, Baylor, TCU, or several other teams. If Iowa were in the SEC no one would have heard about them.

Florida State 16, Florida 13?
Stanford 28, Notre Dame 18?
TCU 51, Baylor 40?
What’s the spread?
To: achilles2000
You bring out some excellent points.

“and really enjoy it more than pro ball.”
That happened to me several years ago. For me, it is the fact that the emotion in the players is genuine and not rehearsed. I suppose one could say that they are more like ‘children’ instead of the child-like behavior in the pros.
