Original Havana Band plays the Noble Sissle song "Great Camp Meeting," recorded on January 14, 1929.

Been listening to a lot of Bessie Smith - also from that time period.
Noble Sissle recorded two nifty versions of “Loveless Love” in the early 1930s, one with a male vocal and the other with a female vocal. Never could make up my mind which I preferred. I think both served up some good licks by Sidney Bechet. Great stuff.
I like Gus Arnheim's version of "Moan, You Moaners." However, in her version of the song, Bessie Smith sings it with passion, as though she really means what she's singing.

“The Original Havana Band”—interesting name for a dance band from England. Did their listeners know what a camp meeting was?
