Media. An Objective media would have harped on how inexperienced he was. They would have hammered him for all the votes he missed while Illinois Senator. They would point to his lack of job experience, and they would hammer him as a "community organizer" who is basically an amateur rabble rouser.
They would have explored his contacts with known terrorists, and they would have put the lie to the fiction that Bill Ayers is just some guy in my neighborhood.
Had he been a Republican, they would have given him a rectal exam with their cameras, and they would have pronounced him a pathetic little league nobody who wasn't even qualified to be in the Illinois Senate, let alone the US Senate.
