We're running out of ambition for gardening as it is prune and cleanup time here in the far northwest corner of California where El Nino is a maybe or it could hit south of Mendocino if it happens at all. The Garlic patch is looking better but the skunks are starting to dig under the rice hull mulch causing the weeds to find a place to germinate. I'm late to plant the cover crop of Common Vetch but I did do a 3" X 100' strip and it is up nicely. Don't know how big a garden we will plant next year due to our age and a more sedentary lifestyle. Oh Boy⦠Lady Bender just informed me to turn off the main water line serving the garden and landscaping before a freeze. The Bolete mushrooms grow in the woods near our home. Those ar Good Eats..
