Heartbreaking ? I suppose...but sweet, too.
God bless the family. I’ll say a Hail Mary for them.
Very sad. May their memory be eternal.
He was walking her home. That’s how I want to go, with my sweetie of 46 years.
“Iâll say a Hail Mary for them.”
Nice
That one originally went over my head, no pun intended.
My parents are both alive and in their mid eighties. That would be their hoped for closing.
Broken heart thing is real when my mom was about to pass the hospice care people asked me if my dad had any cardiac problems he did not... but they said they had nitro and a sedative on hand in case he went bonkers He lived another 7 painful years f sadness he was never the same after she left he had a hell of a sense of humor never heard him laugh again the were married over 60 years Prayers up to the Flutie Family
This isn’t uncommon, for couples to die within hours of each other. There’s also the theory that couples tend to look identical after long marriages.
I remember my grandma in the hospital dying of pancreatic cancer...one day she told grandpa she’d be waiting for him....he said he wouldn’t be long. He passed almost 6 months to the day that she did.
Having lost a parent this past January I can’t imagine his heartbreak. Good man Flutie.
No surprise here. My grandmother died four months after her youngest son died. (my father)
How wonderful for them, I mean that. It is a blessing for a couple in love to pass in that manner.
My dad died in 2001, just a little over a year after my step-mom died. She died of a heart attack and he gave up and died of a broken heart...........
Boston College Eagles against Miami Hurricanes. BC won 47-45 on a Hail Mary pass play.
I remember watching that game. It was Thanksgiving weekend and I was in the Marine Corps stationed in California. It was a pretty incredible game but looking back at the clips, the quality of the video seems so prehistoric.
I am glad at least a few got my (not-so-obscure) reference.
We can all hope to go the same way.
They were in a dupras, is that what Kurt Vonnegut called it in Cat’s Cradle?
I was watching the game too, I was in college and was watching it at a buddy’s house. The wrap on Flutie was that he was to small to play in the NFL. So, he went to the CFL and became a legend. Years later, he returned to the NFL to become quarterback of my Buffalo Bills. He may not be the greatest quarterback ever, but he was one HELL of football player. My prayers go out to him and his family.
