I came from the deep woods and never heard of many of those songs they listed. I thought they came from my Jr. High years and never paid attention to them.
My buddies from the deep woods tended towards ‘How high’s the water mama?’, ‘ Ring of Fire’ or ‘El Paso’...
I came to enjoy all of it!
I spent 66-69 in the Marine Corps and while Creedence and Otis Redding seemed to be played everywhere all the time I only remember the other 8 selections as bracketing my time in country.
