The terrorist attacks in France occurred three weeks before regional elections in France where Marine Le Pen's National Front was running especially strong in two regions.
In the northeastern region around Lille, Marine Le Pen is running to become leader of the region as a lead up to her run for President of France in 2017.
In the southeastern region around Nice on the Riviera, her niece, Marion Marechal Le Pen, is running for leader as the National Front candidate.
Marine Le Pen tweeted these comments (English translation) after the attacks:
"Urgent action is needed.....France must ban Islamist organizations, close radical mosques and expel foreigners who preach hatred in our country as well as illegal immigrants who have nothing to do here."
"France and French people are no longer safe....Islamic extremism must be crushed."
I am not a National Front fan, but I wanted to report her comments without commentary from MSM critics disguised as news reporting.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the next few week. President Hollande is taking a tough line knowing the threat the National Front poses politically.
Hollande wants a three month State of Emergency in France that would take it through the elections next month.
It will be interesting to see if he has any tricks up his sleeve beyond that do deal with Marine Le Pen in the days and weeks ahead?
The niece in Nice is a cutie pie. Nice figure too. Eye candy for the folks in Nice.
Satellite controlled heart valves won’t do it. Unfortunately, both the Nazis and the Soviet Union showed how to do it. You kill it. Islam is a cancer. Oil money or drug money or both have bought everyone off. Europe is in the kill zone just like when JFK drove into Dealy Plaza.
Interesting paternity story. Was it Von Stroheim's line " in Grand Illusion, "Rosenthal, Marechal--these are officers?
“I am not a National Front fan”
Why?
There are many strains in French politics when one studies the history and I read a textbook covering the years 1750-2000 several years ago plus have my own recollections.
Tragically humanism-secularism is very dominant. When Catholic oriented groups began to grow around the turn of the 20th Century and influenced politics, they were banned.
Even before democracy (it came after 1871), at Lourdes the miracle’s existence was at first discouraged by officialdom.
There is Anti-Semitism in French history like the Dreyfus Affair and yes, Jean Marie Le Pen has been dismissive of the Holocaust.
Many men of the Right in French politics with notable exceptions like De Gaulle sided with Laval and Petain (Vichy).
There’s a good streak of libertarianism in French history and politics. When radio broadcasting began in France in the 1920’s, private ownership was allowed making France a standout nation next to the other European countries.
Then World War 2 and government control again.
The NF has its origins in the Right that rose from WW 2 and a movement of small business owners called the “Poujadists” who made their first appearance in the 1950’s.
When DeGaulle decided to pull out of Algeria French colonials returned to the south of France and their experience in being forced out by the Leftists in Algeria and DeGaulle’s cave in were life affecting experiences.
There was a militant movement that tried to assassinate De Gaulle in early 1963 called the OAS (Secret Army Organization).
When North Africans and other Africans began to land in France after colonialism ended, the southern French felt pushed out and the NF began to rise.
There’s been an ‘immigration problem’ in France for some 50 years now, a little longer than in this country.
That part of the NF I can handle, but remember the Jew hating people of France, Vichy collaborators and their ancestors who had the poison planted in them.
There are my concerns about the NF.
Lets call them “Islamic State”.......that irritates our political elites to no end. We must not use the terms the elites want us to use to describe the terrorists.
What's your problem with the National Front?
This reminds me that the ultimate reason for this is Europe's demographic implosion. If they got busy making their own kids, they could fix everything else.
I did a post #27 explaining my views.
There are claims also that the NF is taking money from Russia. I have not substantiated them but the critics are certainly talking about such a notion.
The world is set up with the financial and military powers of the West neutralized by PC and inability to “castrate” their opponents. Literally to kill them and crush their ability to reproduce in an effective manner forever. It is a war where the loser does not sue to keep control of his land, but will have to bow before the victor and surrender our daughters to the rape mobs. Read history, it is not a pretty sight when 14th century mobs win a battle or a war. What do we do if 100,000 refugees are activated in America and just join arms and crush civilians? What does Germany or Poland do when 1.5 million TAKE what they want? What if they don’t even use guns, but just rocks, knives and intimidation? Do we kill them, or negotiate?
Is that oleander?
So what’s the alternative, more of the status quo?
The EU is in shambles. The Maastricht Treaty and open borders have been exposed by the mass invasion of Europe by refugees from the Middle East, Africa, and Southwest Asia. Europe is on the path to suicide unless parties like the NF and UKIP take control.
We are headed down the same road with mass immigration from the Third World. Demography is destiny.
I am more optimistic about France. The neurotoxin killing Europe is the suffocating EU itself, and its efforts to eradicate national identities and cultures.

In this country I will never vote for Republicans like my Senator Pat Toomey again under any circumstances, even if a Democrat wins. It goes also for my fake conservative GOP congressman and the other 235 who supported Ryan for Speaker.
I’m pretty anti-business as usual.
If I were a Frenchman, I would have to give the NF consideration with all the caveats in my post #27 standing out.
In this country, I support Cruz but might accept Trump sort of like I might accept the NF if I were in France.
Any RINO VP running mate for either would disqualify them from getting my vote.
I don’t call myself an NF supporter in France or a Trump supporter in this country, but I am paying attention and thinking.
I like UKIP a heck of a lot and think our politicians should talk sanely and soberly about the corporate elites running our government like Farage does about his country’s government.
Trump and Cruz are saying something similar. So is the Tea Party. Or Angelo Codevilla.
