I’m not sure what ‘solution’ you’re implying that I suggested, or where I joked about anything on this diet thread; and I don’t think I wrote anything that called for a joke about the Holocaust.

We can joke about horrible historical events when they’re long enough in the past that nobody now has any real personal connection to them; that’s not the case here.

In the 60’s and 70’s, none of us could have imagined that the Jews would again be facing the kind of siege they are under today.

Deep apologies. You were not who I intended the post for. In fact you are right on in your assessment.

These threads generate more hostility than Trump/Cruz threads.

Obesity is not a character flaw it is a disease that certainly can be reversed by forced starvation. People can not live in a constant state of hunger, those that say they can have never been hungry. That was the point of the picture.

It’s quite alright, and thank you very much.

You are exactly correct, it’s not a character flaw; and I’m hoping that the more science we get behind it, the more people can be helped. I have a close acquaintance who went through bariatric surgery to solve the problem because she was afraid her diabetes would kill her. She’s doing well now, but there were a world of complications for her, and it’s always better when it can be resolved with real lifestyle changes.

Best,
JT
