Respectfully, I don’t think anyone on this list, or with any grasp of reality regardless of political philosophy, doubts such things can and likely will happen. I think any disagreements are about duration, cause, and implications for the future of what might pass for civilisation.
That there is a high probability a member of a ‘first world’ country will have to be without water, sewage or power due to some kind of catastrophic event only a moron would argue ,
As to if any given event is ‘the beginning of the end’, why, and what this portends as regards some final judgement end of the world- or just something like a flat tire- people have disagreed since the beginning of recorded time.
Some people who I respect, admire and learn from (’steal’ in the sense of knowledge) have drastically different scenarios for which they have prepared; that doesn’t mean anyone is more, or less prepared, etc, than another. Some folks are looking for the End Of Days, some of us just know the odds of an earthquake are high.
IMHO, f you can coherently state the scenario for which you are prepping you are a long way towards your goal.
I agree with you no one on the list, but there are any number of FReepers not on the list which fit my description, you only have to review the many Prepper threads and you will easily find them.
