Sounds like a menu based game?

In stalker, you round a hill and come face to face with mutated dogs looking to rip you to pieces, you simply run and try to figure out how to get to a high spot where they can’t reach you, and you either wait for them to tire out and give up, or you kill them- there’s no menu asking what you wish to do

The only menus you encounter are when you run into other stalkers In the field and want to ask them questions, or have them escort you to some place clear across the map (which is huge- being escorted gets you there much quicker)

Stalkwer is basically a run and gun game as well as a thinking game (You pause before taking on a group of enemies- look around and try to figure out how to use the terrain to your advantage for duck and shoot process- etc- then proceed- )

It’s not really menu based at all- menus to me just seem to really break the flow of the action too much-
