Subaru for the best AWD for the price (any if their vehicles), and mileage is okay.
Mazda CX-5 AWD for efficiency using gas (but AWD not quite as good as Subaru).
VW diesel AWD or Audi AWD for the best of the higher-end AWDs. Diesel Audi or VW can do incredibly well on mileage while having a solid mechanism for AWD.
All 4 are some of the poorest quality vehicles on the planet.
VW, audi and porche diesel system should be avoided until the repairs are invented, and its looking like it ain’t gonna happen. I fact I’d avoid them all together now that it turns out they were adding diesel to the oil to increase there MPG in gas engines as well
