The guy can be armed with a knife. How’s that baseball bat going to hold the knife so that it can be armed (and, as the story says, disarmed)?
The writer doesn’t say that he disarmed his attacker, she says that he disarmed the baseball bat. She must have gone to the same schools that you did.
I looked back at my post, and realized my writing was imprecise and left room for improvement.
