John McCain was not a "rock-ribbed" conservative, ever. Somewhere back there, he absorbed the Teddy Roosevelt Progressive mode, and it has colored his perceptions to this day.
Progressivism is a creeping and ever-changing way of looking at the world, always looking for the compromise that will create a new representation with the various evils of the world, in the hopes that the evil will then be somehow made harmless, or at least less formidable, resulting in an amalgamation that is less evil but acceptable. There is a problem with this, however, in that what would be the lesser of two evils is still evil.
It’s been made a dirty word but I can’t help but think that what we’re coming to is Onward Christian Soldiers. And if we can’t muster the guts to do that than the evil wins.
The churches in Europe have been emptied out, the left is trying to do that here, and look what’s filling the vacuum in Europe...and the minions don’t have the moral wherewithall to stand up for themselves because the values of their ancestors all been sucked out in the name of statism.
I hope for a resurgence of Christianity but right now it looks bleak. Lots of Europeans won’t even protect their women and girls from rape by the barbarians.
