Since it is a mortal sin to be a member of the Democrat party...I asked a priest acquaintance of mine if he ever had a penitent confess to having voted Democrat. He declined to answer.

That’s odd. There’s no reason he couldn’t answer. Maybe he votes Democrat.
I have seen a bishop quoted, saying that he guesses that half the bishops in the U.S. voted for Obama.
