They basically invented and are pushing the multi-verse theory in order to explain why the entire universe is fine tuned for our existence. The alternative is to believe in a creator God. The odds against the universe being this way, if it's the only universe, are nil. Therefore the multiverse...if there's an infinite number of universes then gee did we ever get lucky.

Agree, and I’ve made this argument many times before, and as a long time fan of Astronomy, Astrophysics and Quantum theories I’m as predisposed as anyone to believe in alternate universes, also makes great Dr Who stories,
14 billion years just isn’t that long of a time when talking micro and macro events so lets theorize we get an infinite amount of time to play with for whatever improbable events we hope to explain to random chance and problem solved,
“...gee did we ever get lucky.”
Except ... WE got the one with Bernie Sanders. :(
